This link (http://www.patheos.com/blogs/jesuscreed/2015/05/11/repainting-hell-2-jeff-cook/) is an excellent article which sets out some good arguments on rejecting the traditional view of Hell (everlasting torment of the soul) in favour of embracing an annihilistic view (the soul is simply ‘gone’ – no torment).Largely the basis of this argument is that a good God can not allow any evil to exist in his creation for eternity.

I’m still not certain where I end up on this one. I would like to believe in the annihilist view as it is much more comforting but I’m not sure. I am increasingly favouring the traditional views of the Christian church these days as they have already been wrestled over and over by wise men for centuries.

Certainly one to consider some more…
